OUR STORY

Established in 2015, The Milk House Ice Cream came about through a series of fortunate events. The first event occurred in 2001 when Clint and Brook met, while Clint was a jeweler and diamond-setter and Brook was finishing law school. The couple started dating, and the following year, they married. Shortly after, they found themselves presented with an opportunity to purchase one of the first farmsteads in Pingree Grove, a farm that has been in Brook’s family since the late 1800’s. For nearly a decade, Clint and Brook carried on with their chosen professions until carpal tunnel surgery ended Clint’s career as a jeweler, forcing him to decide what he wanted to be when he grew up.

Out of what appeared to be an unfortunate event, a vision began to take shape. As Clint and Brook were renovating all the buildings on the farm, they were inspired by Brook’s love of ice cream and baking and Clint’s lifelong passion for gardening and local farms. A plan was formed: Build a local ice cream shop in the farm’s old milk house. Here, they would establish a place where family history, tradition, and recipes could pair with local produce and dairy to create delicious and original styles of ice cream. Their parents, kids, and grandkids, always around for pilot tastings, endorse the recipes they serve today.

And now the series of fortunate events that brought life to the Milk House also invites one and all to a family farm where the ice cream is always fresh, always made by hand, and forever classically whimsical.
